Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution - Sea Grant

The Woods Hole Sea Grant program, based at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), supports research, education, and extension projects that encourage environmental stewardship, long-term economic development, and responsible use of the nation’s coastal and ocean resources. WHOI Sea Grant needed a website that would allow them to effectively communicate with research scientists, educators, and the general public.
As a design requirement for the project, The Blue Ocean designed a section 508-compliant website that gives WHOI Sea Grant a platform to clearly and elegantly share information about their activities with all visitors. Featuring a coastal-inspired color palette and photography shot by The Blue Ocean, the website provides a fitting backdrop for all kinds of information dissemination, from funding opportunity announcements, to research highlights, to education and outreach resources.
