Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's Sea Grant Program needed a more engaging look for its existing website. However, being a large research & education institution, their web content is strictly governed by section 508 guidelines for handicapped accessibility. The Blue Ocean proposed a cost-effective solution of repurposing all existing site content around a new series of section 508-compliant Macromedia Dreamweaver templates. WHOI website staff could then use these templates to redeploy their own site. Four series of templates were delivered, each varied slightly in color. The color palettes could be used to designate certain sections of the site. At the completion of this project, The Blue Ocean was then hired to provide a series of artistic landscape photographs that could be used throughout the WHOI Sea Grant site.
